School reform topped triumphs
Former Indiana Gov. Robert Orr died this week. In the mid-1980s, he pulled the plug on the Marble Hill nuclear plant, which Public Service Indiana was building along the Ohio River near Madison, after costs were projected to rise by nearly $2 billion, to a total of $7 billion. His decision pushed the company, now PSI Energy, to the brink of bankruptcy, angering many Indiana shareholders.
