Georgia state legislature pushed PSC to encourage new n-plant build

... while publicly claiming indecision on whether more nuclear plants are needed, Georgia Power has been busily stacking the deck in favor of that approach. During the last legislative session, company lobbyists persuaded lawmakers in both houses to pass resolutions supporting construction of new nuclear plants. Although the resolutions are nonbinding, they were clearly intended to exert political pressure on the PSC to follow the Legislature's pro-nuke lead, and were cited by company representatives making their case before commission members.
