During the last legislative session, company lobbyists persuaded lawmakers in both houses to pass resolutions supporting construction of new nuclear plants. Although the resolutions are nonbinding, they were clearly intended to exert political pressure on the PSC to follow the Legislature's pro-nuke lead, and were cited by company representatives making their case before commission members.
