NORTH KOREA FACES UNITED USA-JAPAN-SOUTH KOREA - ALL INTOLERANT OF N-WEAPONS
Kyodo, "North Korea not facing sanctions soon: Koizumi", The Japan Times, May 26, 2003
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and President George W. Bush agreed during their summit Friday in Texas not to tolerate nuclear weapons in North Korea. Bush and South Korean President Roh Moo Hyun reached a similar agreement in summit talks in Washington earlier this month.
The coordinated stance of the three nations' leaders partly contributed to Pyongyang softening its stance, the source said.
[nuclear.com note: To call North Korea's conditional acceptance (of South Korea and Japan joining the multilateral talks) a softening is really laughable.]
