... Despite the NRC's red finding at Point Beach for a second year in a row, most residents who live in the shadows of the plant say they're not overly concerned.
City officials point to very strict regulations as one of the reasons for the red flag. They also take comfort in the plant's track record.
"I think the overall track record of these plants in their operations and in their relationship to the community is such that you're not going to have people unduly alarmed," City Manager Greg Buckley said.
"You've got hundreds of people in our community that are employed at the plant, very familiar with their operation, and this is a community that's been very comfortable with that technology and with those facilities," he said.
"I don't feel any threat or worry at all," said Tim Schroeder of Schroeder's Department Store.
"They do exactly what they're supposed to do. I have no problem with it whatsoever," said Gloria Duenkel, a hair stylist.
